Excellent work out, slight learning curve Apr 15, 2010 This is an excellent combination of a stair-stepper and treadmill. I get a much more effective workout on this machine than on a regular treadmill. There is a bit of a learning curve since there is no tread in the middle of the machine. But once you get used to placing your feet a little farther apart while stepping, you will not want to go back to a regular treadmill. I've seen some other reviewers say you have to stare at your feet constantly. That is entirely untrue. Once you are used to the machine you will not have to look at your feet. If you do, then you really shouldn't be on a treadmill and should be taking a yoga class to gain balance.

No bang for your buck Sep 02, 2009 There is way to much hype about these machines. You could get a better treadmill at walmart for $1000 less! The console is below par (speed, time and distance... with no back light)and the machine is tiny. If you plan on watching TV or doing anything besides looking at your feet on this machine... you're in for a surprise!
This machine also comes in a TON of pieces!
For the same price you could get a treadmill with a bigger motor, longer running surface, MOTORIZED incline, and a built in TV (which isn't necessary... but it goes to show that bowflex spends more money on advertising then they do on their machines)
